  • Volume 1 contains a facsimile of the Codex Aureus Epternacensis (also known as the Codex Aureus of Echternach), a manuscript written and illuminated in the first half of the 11th century and featuring 16 full-page miniatures, 5 evangelist portraits, 10 canon tables, 9 full-page initials and 16 half-page initials. Volume 2 is a companion set of commentary with title: Das Goldene Evangelienbuch von Echternach, Codex aureus Epternacensis ... Kommentarband / von Rainer Kahsnitz.
  • Facsimile edition of 850 copies published in three versions with the same book-blocks, but different bindings: the standard edition, the semi-deluxe and the luxury edition.
