Notes
Medium: Etchings, Hand coloring
Depiction: Introduces various learned members of the Universities. The Fellows of "Brasenose" are drawn, with unusual unction, issuing from their Hall and through the archways of the Colleges, dressed in their academic guise, the diversified peculiarities and attitudes are full of comicality. A buxom wench, with a basket of fruit, and accompanied by the Vice-Chancellor, is the centre of attraction.
Signed in plate, lower right: "Rowlandson del.".
Source acquisition
Gift of Dickson Q. Brown, Princeton University Class of 1895.
