  • Depiction: Western Americana scene. Two Hopi men in ceremonial dress.
  • Inscribed in pencil, verso: "Otis Polelonema / Hopi Snake Dancers / 1920".
  • Artist information: Otis Polelonema was born in 1902 at Second Mesa on the Hopi Reservation in northern Arizona. He studied at the Santa Fe Indian School from 1914-1920. He returned home to his village of Shungopovi on Second Mesa where he farmed and pain.
