    Summary note
Alberto da Veiga Guignard was a painter of social festivities of São João and of biblical scenes and bucolic landscapes of Minas Gerais as well landscape paintins strongly influenced by asian art. "The testimony registered in this book shows Guignard as a teacher and artist, as well as his emotional side, his platonic love for young women and his affection for his students. The reader will have access to his childhood memories, memories of youth, as students and his performance in the field of arts education. The color reproductions focus mostly on the cards produced by the artist. They are small "love letters", delicately drawn cards, some with soft watercolors. This selection in the work of the master helps us understand his creative process, in which drawing held an important place in the artist's poetic construction while also evokes his kind and loving personality.ʺ (HKB Translation) --Verso Cover.
