Summary note
A family melodrama about a 12-year-old boy with a brain tumor, told from the perspective of the boy's 9-year-old younger brother, a child as much playful and fun as irritating and petulant, as 9-year-olds tend to be, Han-i is, indeed, a terrible troublemaker, His schoolmates all feel like they are his subordinates, and even his family members are subject to his whims, Especially his older brother Han-byul, whom Han-i believes has been faking sickness in order to get out of his tutorial sessions, When it turns out that Han-byul hasn't been faking and is hospitalized with cancer, Han-i turns his bullying attentions to the kid in the bed next to his brother's: Uk is a cheerful boy from the countryside, with a bald head just like that of Han-i's brother, Han-i at first resents Uk's favored-patient status in the cancer ward, but later comes to enjoy his sense of adventure, When Han-byul's condition worsens, he realizes that the 'mystic water' from the mountains Uk always talks about might just come in handy, , This film is based on the true story of the Hong brothers, Sul-hwi (age 15) and Chang-hwi (age 12), who are the nephews of the film's scriptwriter, Kim Eun-jeong, Sul-hwi's cerebral tumor was found in 2001, and he is still fighting against his illness, living in Canada, after his fourth oncotomy in January 2005, Korean Movie Database (KMDb)
