Summary note
Includes texts and musical portions of the masses for the 5th Sunday after Easter (communion: "Cantate Domino"), the Rogation Days (introit: "Exaudivit"; "Alleluia". "Confitemini Domino"; offertory "Confitebor Domino"; and communion "Petite"), and the Vigil of the Ascension (introit: "Omnes gentes", with verse "Subjecit populos"; "Alleluia". "Omnes gentes"; and offertory "Viri Galilei"). Lacks the graduals.
Notes
Manuscript leaf. Discoloration of the recto, folding marks, sewing holes, and thread residue suggest strongly that the lead was later used as a cover or wrapper of a bound book or documents.
Double column, 38 lines in early Gothic bookhand script.
Contains music in neumatic notation.
Origin: Probably written in eastern France (Lorraine) or the Rhineland in the first half of the 12th century.
Contains several three-line initials in red with blue penwork flourishes.
"lxxi" written in lower margin of verso.
Language note
Text in Latin.
