Summary note
Reproduces more than 1100 ephemeral primary source materials which document the ideas and activities of numerous Brazilian organizations and popular movements in the year 2013. There are several important events and groups covered in this collection. In the category Religious Organizations, Ecumenical Groups and Movements, most of the pamphlets were collected at the Vocational Fair during the World Youth Day = Jornada Mundial da Juventude (JMJ Rio 2013). In the category Political Parties and Issues, the pamphlets are related to the demonstrations in June and July 2013.
Notes
The collection is arranged by subject with 15 broad topical groups: Agrarian Reform and Land Issues; Children and Youth; Education and Communication; Environment and Ecology; Ethnic Groups: Blacks; Ethnic Groups: Indians; Ethnic Groups: Others; Homosexual and Bisexual; Human and Civil Rights; Labor and Laboring Classes; Political Parties and Issues; Religious Organizations, Ecumenical Groups and Movements; Urban Activism; and, Women and Feminists. Each topical group is preceded by a Contents List of pamphlets and serials included in the group.
Material was gathered and organized by the staff of the Library of Congress Office in Rio de Janeiro and microfilmed in cooperation with the Overseas Operations Division and the Preservation Reformatting Division.
Indexes and introductory matter are filmed on the first reel.
