Summary note
Album containing 136 albumen prints and collotypes of several archaeological and byzantine monuments, general views, and sculptures of Greece. Included are general views of Athens, the Acropolis, the Parthenon, the Erechtheum, sculptures of the frieze of the Parthenon, the Pnyx, the Cathedral, the Tower of the Winds, the Theater of Dionysus, the church of Panagia Kapnikarea, the Lycabettus Mountain, the Corinth Canal, the Temple of Apollo, Corinth, Patrai, a panorama of Archaia Olympia in three parts, four panoramas of Eleusis, Piraeus, Delphi, and Nauplion, all of them in two parts; Kerameikos (Athens), the Temple of Aphaia, the Vale of Tempe, Mycenae, the Temple of Apollo (Bassai), Corfu, and two costume studies at the beginning. The photographs measure from 155 x 268 to 273 x 380 mm. and mounted one or two per page; some of them titled and signed, on negative by Félix Bonfils and Pascal Sebah in French; a few with the numbers used by Athanasiou; the collotypes attributed to Rhomaides Brothers.
