Summary note
Digitized version of microfilm collection featuring declassified diplomatic correspondence between the U.S. State Department and the embassies and consulates within the country. The correspondence concerns all kinds of matters, including commercial, political, and diplomatic topics of the period, including the role of U.S. citizens within the country, U.S. companies, and any U.S. agencies that had business there. The assessment of political and economic events is also included, especially on the internal affairs of the country. This collection documents the last phases of the Mexican Revolution, the election and subsequent administration of the populist Lázaro Cárdenas.
