Place names are transcribed according to the modified Hepburn (Romaji) System. With a glossary. Name has been changed to Kao-hsuing [Kaohsuing]. Compiled in 1944 from aerial photography dated December 1943 and October 1944 by photo-planimetric method and by reference to Formosa 1:50,000, A.M.S. Sheet 2114 I, 1944, U.S.H.O. Chart 2488, 1938, Target Chart No. 28, 14th U.S.A.A.F., 3 February, 1944. Additional information from intelligence data.
