    Summary note
    Photograph album, titled "Constantinople." Consists of 30 (12.4 x 16.8 cm) 19th century albumen prints of people and scenes in Constantinople, published by Sebah & Joaillier. Included are views of the Prince's Islands, the port of Galata, the Obelisk, Therapia, the Mosque and the fountain of Ahmed, the Hippodrome, the Byzantine church of Haghia Sophia, the tombs of sultans Mohamed II and Abd-ul-Aziz, panorama of Bosphorus, a general view of the Seven Towers, whirling derviches, and Oriental women. Most of the images are titled, numbered, and signed by the photographers ("Sebah & Joaillier" or "P. Sebah").

    MSS copy bound in red cloth on hard boards with leather spine; front cover title in gold with Arabic script above (title in Arabic?) and photographers' name at the bottom.
