    • Title, publisher, and series from cover; printer from lower wrapper (lacking on Cotsen ed.).
    • An alphabet of nursery rhymes.
    • 4 chromoxylograph bifolia, printed on one side only; leaves 1 and 8 pasted down to inside wrappers.
    • Illustrations: 8 full-page chromoxylographs with large alphabet letter in a panel on the left-hand side and 3-4 illustrative vignettes, signed by Crane, each in a separate panel with a verse couplet underneath.
    Binding note
    Pub. yellow wrappers with chromoxylograph design by Crane (integrating a schoolmaster crane into the design) on upper wrapper in green, red, and black, and cover title set into a centered box.
