    • "Aunt Mavor's Toy Books; Price Sixpence Each"--At head of title.
    • 4 bifolia, printed on one side only; first and last leaves pasted down to wrappers.
    • Personified letters all interact with the A apple pie: "B bit it," "C cut it," etc.; a "crudely employed [but] marvelously funny and ideosyncratatic" design (Masaki, II, p. 120).
    • Illustrations: 4 leaves each with 5-8 large red personified alphabet letters on a dark blue background; 1 double-leaf center-fold procession of all the personified letters arrayed around the apple pie; 1 double-leaf alphabet with red capitals and blue text pasted down to wrappers.
    Binding note
    Pub. blue pictorial wrappers, with color-printed pictorial design on upper in black and red and publisher's advertisements for various Routledge series on lower wrapper.
