Notes
Signatures: A-O⁴.
Engraved title within architectural border.
Some pages have woodcut illustrations and printed text; some have engraved text and illustrations.
Many of the plates are from a collection of 52 plates issued by Lafréry in 1569 under the title Illustrium virorum, ut extant in urbe expressi vultus, cum praefatione Achillis Statii.
Pierre de Nolhac, in "La bibliothèque de Fulvio Orsini" (Bibliothèque de l'École pratique des hautes études, Section des sciences historiques et philologiques, fasc. 74) does not consider Orsini's work an ed. of the 1569 work, but a new work.
Page 97, numbered in manuscript, has original printed number 105 partially erased.
Includes index.
Binding note
GAX copy in old plain limp parchment.
Source acquisition
GAX copy is from the printing collection of Elmer Adler.
