Notes
The remainder of a series of tinted drawings on vellum of uncertain date (7th or 8th cent.?) illustrating the Book of Joshua (chap. 2, v. 22, to 10, v. 26). It consists of 15 drawings varying in size (311 x 429 to 900 cm.) originally glued together, forming a roll 10.459m. in length, now detached and kept between cardboards in a portfolio. In the present edition the drawings are reproduced on sheets varying in size from 30 to 32.4 x 42.5 to 90 cm. and mounted on cardboards 52.5 x 95.5 cm. Four plates (no. III, VI, XIII) are also reproduced in colors. The descriptive text is accompanied by photographic reproductions of the miniatures from the Book of Joshua in the Octateuch ms., cod. vat. gr. 746 (10 plates numbered A-K) and some miniatures in the Octateuch ms., cod. vat. gr. 747 (2 plates numbered L-M)
