Notes
Signatures: A-N⁴.
The engraver was, supposedly, Hans Lützelburger. The French verse paraphrases of Scripture passages are by Giles Corrozet.
This copy shows slight typographical differences from the issue designated 1547c in the Holbein Society reprint: Holbein's Icones historiarum Veteris Testamenti. Ed. by Henry Green. Manchester, 1869, p. 85.
Imperfect: 6 leaves (B1-2, G2-4, Ml) wanting.
The first edition, with 92 woodcuts, was published in 1538. The edition of 1547 had 94 woodcuts, not counting the pictures of the four evangelists on the verso of the last leaf but one. This copy has 82 of the woodcuts.
