1909.
Biographical/Historical note
In 1909, George W. Perkins (Riverdale-on-Hudson, New York City), partner of J.P. Morgan, leased the S.S. Yucatan, flagship of the Alaska Steamship Company, complete with captain and crew, to bring eighteen members of his family to Alaska to view Guggenheim holdings. They were joined by Alaska Territorial Governor, Wilford B. Hoggatt, and a professional photographer. While there, the party named the Princeton and Nassau Glaciers, along with Nassau Fiord.
