La presente monografia analizza tutti gli aspetti concernenti Flora e i riti a lei dedicati, estendendo la trattazione anche alle testimonianze provenienti dai territori italici e all'iconografia, che spazia da quella antica a una selezione di opere moderne. Oggi la dea viene comunemente associata ai fiori e al mirabile ritratto che di lei ha saputo fare Botticelli nella celeberrima Primavera, ma per gli antichi Romani ella era una divinità ben più complessa di quanto si possa pensare.
