    • Title from printed catalog.
    • Script: Cursiva libraria by a single scribe, with Fere-Textualis for incipits of books, chapter running titles.
    • Decoration: Fol. 1r opens with a 14-line pen-flourished initial Q (“Quoniam”) in red, pale green, and ochre. Sections begin with 2-line red initials, with guide letters visible.

    Germany, 15th century. Contemporary binding of wooden boards (9 mm thick) covered in pigskin.

    Provenance
    Garrett MS. 100 was in the library of Wenzel Faber von Budweis (approximately 1455/60-1518), probably from the 1480s, when he undertook the study of medicine at the University of Leipzig. Robert Garrett (1875-1961), of Baltimore, Maryland, Class of 1897, purchased the manuscript on 28 September 1925 from the London antiquarian bookseller E.P. [Ernst Philip] Goldschmidt (1887-1954). Garrett's gift to the Princeton University Library, 1942.
