    Summary note
The Bamberg Psalter, dating from around 1220/30, is a joint work of two master illuminators who stand in different traditions and whose juxtaposition and coexistence documents the change in style from Romanesque to Gothic. The facsimile volume is a full size color reproduction, including a reproduction of the horn plate binding with color paintings visible through the transparent cover and held within silver frames.
