    Summary note
This long landscape, an endless vista of streams and mountains, is painted on eleven sections of paper. The scenes develop in continuous sequence, from the suburban plains to a mountain village. A lake view leads to towering cliffs; a bridge, tall peaks and roadside shops follow. An inscription in semi-cursive calligraphy by Emperor Qianlong is written at the beginning of the painting. Following the painting are inscriptions by Chen Quan and Pingxian of Hangzhou.
