    Summary note
The catalogue comprises maps, prints and manuscripts dating from the 16th century, preserved in historical archives of Brazil, France and Portugal. Were also compiled the accounts left by chroniclers of the time and the subsequent research from Francisco Varnhagen, Capistrano de Abreu, Armando Cortesão, Gilberto Ferrez, Carl Vieira de Mello, Mauricio de Almeida Abreu and Joaquim Veríssimo Serrão, among others. The work brings a summary of the contribution of these authors, and the images that illustrated their texts. This iconography served as a source for the creation of 3D panoramas (digital mockup) of the territory where today are the districts of Centre South Zone (Leblon) and the North Zone (to São Cristóvão), including the Serra da Carioca.
