Aurora have chosen an American-themed program which takes a musical journey across the country, with Aaron Copland's bucolic Appalachian Spring, Charles Ives' shimmering The Houstatonic at Stockbridge from his Three Places in New England, and John Adams' monumental, irrepressibly kinetic Chamber Symphony.
Notes
1st and 7th works for voice and instrumental ensemble; 2nd and 4th works for chamber orchestra; 3rd, 5th and 8th works arranged for voice and chamber orchestra; 6th work is a ballet for flute, clarinet, bassoon, piano, 4 violins, 2 violas, 2 cellos and double bass.
1st and 7th works written and produced by Max Baillie.
