Summary note:
This educational book, presented in magic-lantern slide format, depicts scenes from lives of such virtuous historic figures as Kusunoki Masatsura's mother, Mencius's mother, and George Washington. Other scenes educate about good and bad habits. Written explanations are included at the top of each illustrated slide. The images are taken from a print attributed to Hiroshige III, titled Kyōiku hitsuyō gentō furiwake sugoroku. The publisher of the print is partially visible on inside of back cover. It is likely that the text is by Tsurubuchi Hatsuzō, a pioneer in magic-lantern education.
